How we choose
Every product Eva carries is reviewed before it goes on the shelf. We look at the product and at the company behind it, and we say no more often than we say yes.
- Ingredients
- We read the whole panel, not the front of the pack: what is in a product, in what order, and what each thing is doing there.
- Sourcing
- Where each ingredient and material comes from, who makes the product, and whether the brand can show us.
- Testing
- What the maker checks for, how often, and whether someone independent confirms it.
- Labeling
- Whether the label says what the product is and is not, plainly and completely.
- The people behind it
- Who owns the brand, who runs it, and how they answer when we ask a hard question.
A product is reviewed again when something changes: a new owner, a new factory, a changed recipe, or a recall.
We do not publish the standard itself. It is how we decide, and it changes as we learn. What you see in the store is what cleared it.
Recalls
Recalls are public facts, not part of the standard. Every recall Eva publishes is listed here, whether or not Eva sells the product.
