## Carry, do not walk

Public ground is off limits until the shots are done. Carry the puppy to see traffic, shops, and people.

> **Fear, not force.** If the puppy backs away, increase the distance. Never carry a scared puppy toward the thing.

## Surfaces and sounds

Tile, grass, gravel, metal grates at home. The vacuum, the blender, doorbells, at low volume with treats.

### Other dogs

Vaccinated adult dogs you know well, one at a time, on neutral ground.
